Create a Google Ads Account the Safe Way

Quick Reference Keywords: New Google Ads account · Expert mode · Skip campaign creation · Google Ads billing · Advertiser verification · Account suspended · Smart campaign

Overview

Google's sign-up pushes new advertisers into building a "Smart campaign" right away. You don't want that: brayv.ai builds a much better campaign for you with Siren, and a rushed first campaign wastes money. This guide gets you a clean, empty account that's ready to connect to brayv.ai.

Estimated time to complete: 10 minutes

Before you start

  • Use a Google login that belongs to the business (for example your business Gmail or Google Workspace address), not an employee's personal account. Whoever owns this login owns the ad account.
  • Have a credit or debit card ready for billing.
  • Know your business's exact legal name and address (Google may ask you to verify them).

Create the account

  1. Go to ads.google.com and click Start now.
  2. Sign in with the business Google login.
  3. When Google asks about your business and starts creating a campaign, look for Switch to Expert Mode (on the first screen, or under the three dots). Click it.
  4. On the next screen choose Create an account without a campaign (sometimes shown as a small link below the campaign options).
  5. Confirm your billing country, time zone and currency. Choose carefully: Google doesn't let you change these later.
  6. Click Submit. You now have an empty Google Ads account.

Set up billing

Campaigns can't run without billing, but you can connect to brayv.ai before you finish this.

  1. In Google Ads, click Billing (the credit card icon) > Billing setup.
  2. Add your business details and payment method.
  3. Choose automatic payments (Google charges after you spend).

When billing is approved, any campaign Siren already built goes live by itself; you don't need to come back to brayv.ai.

Advertiser verification

Google may ask you to verify your business (legal name, address, and sometimes an ID). You'll see a banner in Google Ads with a deadline. Finish it before the deadline, or Google stops showing your ads.

Avoid a suspension

New accounts are sometimes suspended for looking suspicious. To stay clear:

  • Use details that match everywhere: the business name, address and website should be the same in Google Ads, billing and on your website.
  • Don't create several accounts for the same business.
  • Use a payment method in the business's name.

If your account is suspended anyway, Google Ads shows an Appeal button. brayv.ai's Google Ads card also tells you when the account isn't active.

Next step

Connect Google Ads to brayv.ai, then Build a Google Ad with Siren.
